The Rays have placed pitchers Jeff Niemann and Wade Davis on the 15-day disabled list with strained shoulders. Davis and Niemann were sent back to Florida from Toronto on Sunday to be examined by team doctors. To fill the roster spots, the Rays recalled pitchers Jeremy Hellickson and Mike Ekstrom from Triple-A Durham. Davis and Niemann are a combined 19-12 for Tampa Bay this season.
