The Phillies and Rays have been linked in trade discussions involving outfielder Jayson Werth. The St. Petersburg Times writes that Philadelphia's willingness to deal Werth will depend on whether or not they acquire a front-line starting pitcher like Roy Oswalt. Starters like Houston's Roy Oswalt, Oakland's Ben Sheets and Arizona's Dan Haren would appease the Phillies. Philadelphia would then trade Werth to save the approximate $3.5 million remaining on the final year of his contract and call up top prospect Domonic Brown.
