Former Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi says that Yankees right-hander A.J. Burnett is his own worst enemy. Ricciardi signed Burnett to a five-year deal while the pair were both in Toronto. "I like A.J. personally," said Ricciardi, now an ESPN analyst. "He's blessed with an unbelievable arm and unbelievable stuff. I think every organization that's had him has always scratched their head and said, 'How can this guy not win a Cy Young? How is he not able to be a consistent 18-20 game winner with that stuff?' After you get around him, you understand that the reason is because he stops himself at some point." Burnett lost his cool Saturday after a rough two innings against the Rays and sliced both his hands after hitting a clubhouse door in frustration. "It's a constant battle with him," Ricciardi said. "He's not a bad guy, as far as disrupting a clubhouse or anything like that. He disrupts himself more than anything."
