Mets left-hander Oliver Perez was in Phoenix on Monday and is expected to be activated during the team's series against the Diamondbacks. Perez is officially on the disabled list with right knee tendinitis, but the Mets wanted him to hone his craft in the minor leagues. "Based on the fact that he's had four [minor league] starts and is progressing, we're optimistic that he's going to be ready to join us here shortly," assistant general manager John Ricco said.
