The Phillies will be without second baseman Chase Utley for eight weeks after he underwent surgery on his injured thumb on Thursday. Utley isn't expected to return until September. Philadelphia originally expected to be without Utley for five-to-six weeks. "Yeah, this hurts," manager Charlie Manuel said. He was put on the disabled list Tuesday with a sprained ligament, and doctors later determined part of the ligament was detached from a bone.
