It's possible that Mets manager Jerry Manuel could start asking closer Francisco Rodriguez to record multi-inning saves. New York asked Rodriguez to protect a lead in the eighth inning without just one out on Thursday night and Manuel could do more of the same if K-Rod bounces back well. "Once he's ready to go he's shown he can pitch multiple innings and he can bounce back," Manuel said. Rodriguez doesn't mind getting four or five outs, but he doesn't like being asked to warm up multiple times.
