Diamondbacks pitcher Ian Kennedy is working on a sinking, two-seam fastball. "I feel pretty good with it," Kennedy said. "That's a pitch I need. The four-seamer can be pretty straight, and you have to hit the spot. The two-seamer you can let it do its thing and let guys hit it and get ground balls." Kennedy thought he needed to add the sinker in order to become an elite pitcher. "You look at the best pitchers, and they all have it," he said. "It's just a pitch that saves you pitches later on in the game. It can get you further into games."
