The Giants have introduced horizontal striped socks for their team this season. "No, it's entirely voluntary," managing partner Bill Neukom insisted. "I just saw the pictures of some of our Hall of Famers in the '30s with their stirrups and stripes, and I thought that it's just a good look." The majority of players now wear pants that don't show any sock. The only Giants likely to show their stripes are Barry Zito, Eugenio Velez, Juan Uribe and Nate Schierholtz.
