Red Sox starter Daisuke Matsuzaka will be limited this spring by an aching back, but he still has high hopes for the 2010 season.
"I can't say for sure until I really start throwing the ball, but my expectations for the season are very high," Matsuzaka said Thursday.
Matsuzaka made just 12 starts last season because of a groin injury that he hid from the organization.
"I'm really ready to be after it and being prepared to throw a lot of pitches," he said. "But right now this [back injury] is something I have to deal with and I have to bear with it for the time being. But it's a little bit stressful."
