The Indians are promoting general manager Mark Shapiro to president. Shapiro will be promoted after this season and be succeeded as general manager by Chris Antonetti, his assistant for the last nine years. "I strongly believe we have a very solid leadership team that will be the core of this franchise for years to come," Paul Dolan, of owner Larry, said. "[Shapiro] has built a culture here that is the envy of the industry."
