The Boston Red Sox have agreed to a one-year, $10 million dollar deal with free-agent Adrian Beltre. The deal is contingent on Beltre passing a physical. Beltre will be paid a base salary of $9 million in 2010. The contract includes a $5 million player option in 2011 as well as a $1 million buyout. Beltre won gold gloves at third base in 2007 and 2008. He hit .265 for the Mariners last year with eight home runs and 44 RBIs. He only played in 111 games due to injuries.
