Jays president Paul Beeston praised general manager Alex Anthopoulos as a "terrific negotiator" following a press conference announcing the Roy Halladay trade. In trading Halladay for pitcher Kyle Drabek, infielder Brett Wallace and catcher Travis D'Arnaud, he was a restricted negotiator. Beeston said team owner Rogers Communications' board of directors had no problem spending the extra cash. "As long as we can make a good business case, which translates into a good baseball case, we can count on (the board's) support," he said.
