The overwhelming belief is that first baseman Adrian Gonzalez would thrive playing at Fenway Park. The Red Sox, who tried to acquire Gonzalez from the Padres this past summer, are going to try once again this winter. "Then you'd have two teams, Yankees and Red Sox, that would be impossible to pitch to," an American League general manager told the Boston Globe. "Gonzalez would come close to 50 homers if he played half his games at Fenway. I don't think that's exaggerating." Gonzalez hit 40 home runs in 2009 despite playing half his games at cavernous Petco Park.
