Cardinals third baseman Mark DeRosa will push to have surgery on his left wrist as soon as possible. He wants to have the procedure done soon so that he can be ready for spring training. DeRosa explained that Cardinals team doctors have called it a "no-brainer" that he have surgery to repair a torn tendon sheath. "I know I faltered down the stretch, and even though I feel like I swung the bat well in these three games (of the NLDS), it's something I have to take care of," DeRosa told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "I don't think it bothered me that much, but I'm sure it was always in the back of my mind and it probably did affect things. I need to have the surgery for peace of mind."
