Barry Bonds, along with several teammates from the San Francisco Giants, was tested for performance-enhancing drugs on Wednesday. Bonds was one of about 10 Giants required to give a urine specimen to a Major League Baseball laboratory technician. The technician arrived unannounced at SBC Park. Giants who were tested included shortstop Omar Vizquel and pitchers Jason Christiansen, Kirk Rueter and Tyler Walker. "We're really upbeat about this whole thing," Giants trainer Stan Conte said Sunday night. "It is encouraging because after the second surgery we weren't sure why he wasn't progressing." Bonds has yet to play this season.
