Mets third baseman David Wright was absent from the lineup on Sunday after showing an uncharacteristic lack of hustle one day prior. Wright loafed to home plate against the Braves on Saturday night, which proved costly because he didn't cross home plate before teammate Jeff Francoeur was thrown out at second. "Some of these mistakes by the younger players you can handle," manager Jerry Manuel told the New York Post. "But what you hope for is that the Wrights, the [Carlos] Beltrans, those guys, now can police the rest of the group where you don't have to be as a manager concerned with that." Wright apologized to his teammates after the game.
