A former big-time baseball agent is in the bidding to buy the Texas Rangers, sources told the Dallas Morning News. Dennis Gilbert is the front man for investors who have been approved by Major League Baseball and have submitted a bid to Hicks Sports Group for the team. A source said Gilbert's group isn't among the front-runners to land the club. Gilbert represented George Brett, Barry Bonds, Jose Canseco and Bobby Bonilla in the 1980s and 1990s.
