Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia was hit in the chest by a line drive against the Mariners on Saturday, but still cruised to his 18th win. Sabathia allowed just one run in seven innings as New York defeated Seattle 10-1. In the bottom of the fifth, Franklin Gutierrez hit a liner high off Sabathia's chest. Yankees manager Joe Girardi rushed out from the dugout, thinking that CC had been hit in the face. "When you are that big, it takes more than a line drive to get you out of there," Teixeira said. On Sabathia's next pitch, he hit 96 mph on the radar gun. "Yeah, that's a scary moment. You lose one of your starters, that could be devastating down the stretch here," Girardi said. "We caught a break there."
