Coming off a perfect game last week, White Sox starter Mark Buehrle retired the first 17 batters he faced on Tuesday night.
He set a Major League record with 45 straight outs before the Twins rallied against the White Sox.
Buehrle wound up allowing five runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings, but was perfect through 5 2/3 innings against Minnesota.
"It's just frustrating after a loss," Buehrle said after the loss of the record. "It might mean more tomorrow or the next day once I cool off. But I'm not too happy right now."
