The Mets were hoping to get Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes back shortly after the All-Star break, but they'll have to wait longer. New York general manager Omar Minaya said Tuesday that both stars will need more time to heal, perhaps several more weeks. "We need to stay in contention and we do have, if I'm not mistaken, half a season still to play," Minaya said. "That's a lot of time, and we hope that by the time these guys come back that we are close, within striking distance or hopefully ahead."
