Johnny Damon felt like he almost passed out in the field against the Red Sox on Thursday. Damon pinch hit in the ninth inning of the Yankees' 9-8 win over the Mets on Friday night after being left out of the starting lineup. He said his eyes have been "fluttering" for a few weeks. Damon was examined by doctors prior to Friday's game, and was back in the starting lineup on Saturday afternoon. The left fielder dropped a fly ball against Boston on Thursday, and claimed of feeling faint afterward. "It felt like I didn't know where I was for a second when that happened," Damon said. "The eyes fluttered and you kind of just think the ball is coming down to you right here and then it's coming down to the right of you. I don't know."
