Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia won't be in the lineup until at least Wednesday after aggravating a strained right groin early in Sunday's 4-3 victory against the Rays.
Pedroia joins first baseman Kevin Youkilis on the sidelines.
He aggravated the injury on a ground out to third against Tampa Bay.
"My cleat kind of got caught, and it was an inside fastball, so I tried to turn on it. And obviously it hurt," Pedroia said. "It will be all right. Day off (today) will be nice. I already talked to (manager Terry Francona), he won't let me play (tomorrow), so then we'll go on from there. I'll be out there as soon as I can."
