An MRI exam revealed patella tendinitis in Oliver Perez's right knee, which will send him to the disabled list. "I felt like I could continue to pitch, but I want to get healthy and I want to feel better in my knee because I don't want to (deal) with that the whole season," Perez said after Wednesday night's game. "I don't want it getting worse. ... So that's a good decision, because I want to be healthy all season long and try to help my team." He said earlier this week that his agent, Scott Boras, told the Mets of his preference to stay in the big leagues to work out his problems.
