Red Sox pitcher John Smoltz could resume throwing Wednesday or Thursday as he continues his recovery from shoulder surgery last June. "I work hard, and I'm working smart," Smoltz said Saturday. Smoltz agreed to a one-year, $5.5 million deal with Boston in January after spending 20 years with Atlanta. "He actually feels pretty good," Red Sox manager Terry Francona said. "I think he has days, probably, where he's frustrated because he wants to be pitching. That's why he's still pitching."
