Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira received a cortisone shot Thursday to help him fully recover from his left wrist injury. "I'm excited about getting better because it's been too long," Teixeira said. "It's been lingering for a week and that's too long. I hate missing any time and having to battle through, but hopefully this will put me over the top." Teixeira suffered the injury last Wednesday in Baltimore, and is batting .160 with one home run and 3 RBIs in 25 at-bats this season.
