The Kansas City Royals have traded first baseman/outfielder Ross Gload and cash considerations to the Florida Marlins in exchange for a player to be named. Gload, who will turn 33 on Sunday, was hitting .280 (14-for-50) in 22 games for the Royals this spring. He spent the past two seasons in Kansas City, hitting .273 in a career-high 122 games in 2008, after being acquired from the White Sox on December 16, 2006.
