Trevor Hoffman, the Major League's all-time leader in saves, filed for free agency on Saturday but could still remain with the Padres. Hoffman, 41, was offered a contract by San Diego in the past two weeks, but GM Kevin Towers has yet to hear back from Hoffman's agent. "Well, I think I have more than one [season left]," Hoffman told MLB.com last month. "My body feels good. My arm feels a heck of a lot better than it has the last few years. The competitive juices are still there."
