Derek Jeter collected six hits on Saturday against the Rays, playing in a day-night doubleheader, to move within three hits of Lou Gehrig's Yankee Stadium record. Jeter, who now has 1,266 hits at the Stadium, needs three more to tie Gehrig (1,269). The Yankees have eight games left at the Stadium this season before it closes for good. The shortstop went 6-for-7 on Saturday, moving his batting average from .296 to .303 for the season. The Yankees will host the Rays in their series finale on Sunday, with Carl Pavano (2-1) facing Edwin Jackson (11-10). On Monday the Yankees will kick off a four-game set against the White Sox, before the Orioles come to town on Friday for the final series at the Stadium.
