Diamondbacks' outfielder Eric Byrnes will miss the rest of the season because of a left hamstring that simply hasn't healed, according to East Valley Tribune. Byrnes received positive results from an MRI exam on his left hamstring Tuesday but has come to the realization that he will not return this season. "Practically, I can?t look at this year," Byrnes said. "It is not a very realistic option. I?d love to play this year. But the other thing is, it?s not my call. That?s for the doctor and the team." "The bottom line is I?ll be here the next couple of years. Those are very important for me and for the team. I have to make sure I come to spring training 100 percent." "I have to be cautious and not jeopardize the next couple of years."
