Alfonso Soriano believes that he can help teammate Kosuke Fukudome get back on track at the plate, according to The Chicago Tribune. "He knows his own swing," Soriano said. "He can't lose his confidence. That's the most important thing. We all have to go through a little struggle through the season. I'll talk to him about it. The day off is going to be good for him." Soriano is the only Cubs' player that is even semi-fluent in Japanese. "It's tough because mentally you get tired," Soriano said. "You don't see your family. You don't see your friends, and you're in a different country with a new language. It's tough, but I'm proud of how he's handled it, especially the first year." Soriano began his career in Japan.
