Tigers' hitter Gary Sheffield claims that he'll be a force next season after an injury-plagued 2008 campaign, according to The Detroit Free Press. "I know I have another year on my contract, so I put in the work," Sheffield said. "I want to finish what I started. I knew, eventually, I would get better and I would be healthy. But it was a process -- a painful process, a frustrating process." Sheffield is hitting .228 in 263 at-bats this season, tallying nine home runs and 32 RBIs. "A lot better," Sheffield said Thursday of how he is feeling. "I'm not limited."
