Marlins' second baseman Dan Uggla is not concerned with the fact that the team hasn't locked him up with a long-term extension, according to The South Florida Sun-Sentinel. The team signed shortstop Hanley Ramirez to a long-term deal last week even though president of baseball operations Larry Beinfest didn't recommend the signings. "The whole Hanley [Ramirez] deal was kind of a shock to everybody," Uggla said. "We don't really think about it. We know how things go around here. If they do [offer more multiyears], great, if not, you move on. That's about all you can do." Uggla is one of several Marlins that will become arbitration-eligible after this season. "Before [the stadium] everybody knew it was a matter of time before they got rid of [expensive players] and traded for more talent," Uggla said. "Now that they have a stadium, there is that chance more than one guy could be here for a long time. I've heard through the grapevine they'd like to lock down a few players. Whether or not that happens, who knows?"
