Yankees' third baseman Alex Rodriguez is on target for a return to the field against the Orioles on Tuesday, according to The New York Daily News. His final test will come Monday in Tampa, but he has excelled thus far while rehabbing in simulated games. "As of (Sunday), yes, he had a good day and no issues. We wait for one more day and see where we are after (Monday) and make an evaluation," Manager Joe Girardi said. "Because extended spring doesn't have games on Sundays, he had a simulated game because pitchers there still need to throw. He had 20 (plate appearances), but he didn't run 20 times." He's been hitting well and taking numerous ground balls in the field. "It's the best I've felt since the injury," Rodriguez told reporters. "It's invaluable to get those at-bats. You can't duplicate it anywhere else. I'm excited. I want to get back into the lineup and help my team."
