San Diego ace Jake Peavy will miss his scheduled start on Monday night because of soreness in his pitching elbow, according to The Associated Press. Peavy will have an MRI on Monday in order to determine the extend of the damage. "It's not like a normal soreness. That's obviously the reason we're missing the start is because it's not normal," Peavy said Sunday. "Your arm is sore all the time, but I do feel some of it in the elbow [and] that's always a cause for concern. We don't know how big, but it's always better to be safe than sorry." He's the reigning National League Cy Young winner, and is 4-3 with a 2.91 ERA this season.
