The Cubs are exploring the possibility of signing recently-released centerfielder Jim Edmonds, according to a report in The Chicago Tribune. Manager Lou Pinella has long wanted another left-handed bat to complement Kosuke Fukudome, while Felix Pie has been inconsistent in center. Edmonds would allow the Cubs to send Pie to the minors for more steady work. "We'll just have to see what happens," Pinella said of the Edmonds rumors.
