Free-agent hurler David Wells admitted to The New York Post on Thursday that he has been working out near his home in San Diego, and he believes that he could help bolster the Yankees rotation. Hank Steinbrenner also admitted that he has considered Wells as a solution when considering the team's recent rotation struggles. "I've thought about it," Steinbrenner said. "I saw him on TV, and I did think about it when I was watching." "I'm in shape, I'd just have to fine-tune a couple of things," Wells said. "I'd need a little bit of time, but not much. Physically I feel fine, real good. Wells has 239 career victories, with a pair of stints in pinstripes over the last decade.
