Barry Bonds visited his San Francisco Giants teammates in Los Angeles on Sunday, but he still is not sure when he can join them on the field. After renewing acquaintances with manager Felipe Alou and the coaches and players, the seven-time MVP addressed a group of reporters and said he was upbeat about his recovery from three knee surgeries since Jan. 31. "It's coming along good," said Bonds, whose 41st birthday is next Sunday. "I'm really happy, but I don't have any timeframe for coming back. That will come from the doctors." The slugger also added that he's certain he'll return by the 2006 season. "I have no doubt in my mind whatsoever I'll be back next year," he told ESPN. Bonds has been rehabbing at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles under the care of physical therapist Clive Brewster and longtime Angels orthopedist Dr. Lewis Yocum. He will continue that regimen until doctors give him the OK to resume baseball activities with the Giants. "I've had three surgeries. If I had one, it would take from six to eight weeks to recover. I've had three of them," Bonds said. "The last one was May 2 and it's only July 17. For the most part, I feel great. I'm just going to stay positive and hope I get back. I'm not even counting out this year."
