The Milwaukee Brewers have placed Matt Garza on the disabled list with a strained muscle in his back.

The right-hander will miss at least 4-6 weeks.

Craig Counsell told reporters that the timetable is just for Garza to return to the mound.

"Just a little different soreness that I wasn't used to, but I was changing some stuff [mechanically], so I equated it to that," Garza said. "I guess it wasn't, and right now it [stinks]. But I've just got to get better and stronger and be here to support the guys. Just do whatever I can."

Tyler Cravy was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday to replace Garza in the rotation.
