The Kansas City Royals have won the 2015 World Series, beating the New York Mets 7-2 in a 12-inning Game 5.

The Mets entered the ninth innings with a 2-0 lead, but Terry Collins left Matt Harvey try to finish off his complete game shutout. 

Lorenzo Cain walked to lead off the ninth inning, stole second and then scored on a double off Harvey by Eric Hosmer.

Homer came home when Salvador Perez grounded to third and an errant throw by Lucas Duda.

Kansas City broke the tie in the 12th inning when Christian Colon had a tiebreaking single before Cain broke the game open with a three-run double.

Perez was also named World Series MVP.
