If Don Mattingly is not retained by the Los Angeles Dodgers, he is believed to be the Miami Marlins' preferred choice as their next manager.
The Marlins have already interviewed Manny Acta, Bo Porter and Larry Bowa.
Mattingly could be fired by the Dodgers if they come up short in the playoffs.
