Michael Saunders, who tore his meniscus during the first week of training camp, is ahead of schedule in his recovery.

The Toronto Blue Jays initially expected the outfielder to miss the first half of the season, but now an April return isn't out of the question.

"It's ... kind of a miracle," John Gibbons said.

Saunders took batting practice in Dunedin, Florida and worked on agility drills again Thursday.
