The Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies are not close to a trade involving Cole Hamels, according to a source.
The Boston Globe reported on Sunday that the Red Sox were one of four teams to make an offer for Hamels.
The Red Sox are concerned with the cost to acquire the left-hander.
