Phil Hughes has agreed to a three-year, $42 million contract extension with the Minnesota Twins.
The right-hander will make $9.2 million in 2015 and 2016 and earn base salaries of $13.2 million from 2017 to 2019.
The deal includes a limited no-trade clause and a chance to make $1 million in performance bonuses over the life of the contract.
It overwrites the final two years and $16 million remaining on his current contract.
