The Boston Red Sox were aggressive in their pursuit of Jose Abreu, who ultimately landed with the Chicago White Sox, this past October.
Boston submitted multiple offers and ultimately fell less than $5 million short of winning the bidding for Abreu.
Abreu signed a six-year, $68 million deal with the White Sox.
