The Cleveland Indians are believed to be discussing a potential contract extension with Jason Kipnis.

It was announced on Monday that the Indians reached one-year deals with all players on the 40-man roster who did not have enough service time to be eligible for arbitration, one of which was Kipnis.

Kipnis has two years and 69 days of service time. Any extension would probably be for at least five years, covering his four arbitration years and one of his free agent years (2018).
