Zack Greinke left his first spring training start in the first inning Thursday with a strained right calf.

Greinke was joined on the mound by trainer Stan Conte and manager Don Mattingly after throwing just four pitches. He left the field and retreated to the clubhouse with Conte.

"I think it's minor, but we'll see," Greinke said. "I don't know exactly what it was, but it felt kind of like a cramp."

The Dodgers termed Greinke's removal "precautionary," but even a small injury could push back his season debut.
