The New York Yankees are putting together a plan that could have them go on a $300 million spending spree this winter, according to sources.

The front office and ownership have long talked about getting under the $189 million luxury tax threshold for 2014.

The Yankees will begin their organization meetings on Monday where they will settle on a strategy that they believe can cut payroll to $189 million while spending big on free agents.

According to sources, New York is expected to target Robinson Cano, Masahiro Tanaka, Brian McCann and Carlos Beltran.
