Ryan Howard: The Phillies are in the Wild Card chase, and Howard is closing in on the NL-MVP. Despite a few more base-on-balls, the 1B now has 56 HR's and 139 RBI's, to go along with a .314 batting average. 2.(2.) Albert Pujols: The first-place Cardinals host the Giants this weekend with Pujols looking to add to his offensive totals (.321, 45 HR's, and 120 RBI's). 3.(3.) Derek Jeter: Jeter is closing in on Joe Mauer for the AL batting title (.346) as well as the AL MVP.
