Zack Wheeler is "getting close" to his major league debut with the Mets, according to assistant general manager John Ricco.
After Wheeler turned in a strong start for Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday night, Ricco admitted that the Mets had discussed several dates for the pitcher to make his debut.
