The Brewers and Carlos Gomez have avoided arbitration with a one-year, $4.3 million contract.
The agreement doubles Gomez's salary. He can become a free agent after the 2013 season.
He hit .260 for Milwaukee last season with 19 homers, 51 RBIs and 37 stolen bases in 43 chances.
